WorldJam; Check out our May Song Circle!
Hi fans of live online singing,
UK-based WorldJam uses Jamulus, free software, to bring people from all over the world together, online, to make music — live! They broadcast their shows every Saturday live on YouTube; you can watch today’s show at 9:00am Pacific time, along with archived shows, here. Today’s theme is 50’s and 60’s songs, and I understand they’re going to be featuring songs from The Doors, Bobby Gentry, Jethro Tull, The Tokens, Muddy Waters, The Kinks, Louis Armstrong, and more.
Here at SingOnline.org, we hosted our 7th monthly Song Circle in April, and it was wonderful. Among the songs we sang together were Jewels, by the great Barbara McAfee — in three-part harmony! — and This Little Light of Mine, always a favorite.
If you aren’t part of our Song Circle already, come check us out! No previous experience needed, no need to read music, we share easy-to-learn songs in the oral tradition. You’ll have fun singing in harmony with wonderful people from all over! I’ll need to do a 1:1 Zoom with you in advance to onboard you, so please don’t leave that to the last minute as onboarding slots book up, and I don’t do them the day of the Song Circle. Our next Song Circle is Sunday, May 16 — email me at marvsingonline@gmail.com to get started.
Yours in song,
Marv
